Art

Today we make our way to National Harbor in Prince George's County, Maryland, home of "The Awakening." This dramatic sculpture, created in 1980 by J. Seward Johnson, Jr., is made of five separate pieces to give the impression of a giant struggling to free himself from the earth. The tallest piece of the aluminum sculpture is the arm, which extends 17 feet (5.2 meters) into the air.
